RecommendedI have always loved the South African Shop Howick, but they have recently gone above and beyond delivering my order to my home due to a special set of circumstances. Went to grab a couple of items from this shop today, service was absolutely disgusting, you weren’t able to browse the shop for items that you potentially needed due to the attendants rushing customers out of the shop as soon as you walked in. They spoke rudely in Afrikaans about us, thinking we weren’t able to understand. I am absolutely disgusted at the service from these people and have let my friends and family know about my experience here, I will not be supporting this shop again.

We would like to address this: our hours stipulate that we close at 3pm, and we try our best to serve customers before closing time. We appreciate that customers waited a long time on Saturday as we were extremely busy and with the restrictions in place it took a while to get the queue moving at times. The lady was so rude to me today… snapped at me after I asked a simple question. I’ve just come from the store, in the middle of Level 4 lockdown, I was allowed into the small store even though there was another gentleman inside (I’m sure the rule clearly stated 1 in at a time) anyway… there was a sign on the door saying 1 person at a time and NO children. The lady was extremely rude to me today when I went in asking if they had something, she was short and snappy and constantly made as if I was blaming her for not having it. This is not the first time I have been treated rudely at the store, but it will be the last. I will never go back there. Just because I am young and I speak English firstly doesn't mean don't understand and speak Afrikaans and secondly doesn't mean it is okay to talk to me like I am a child. We are however under pressure to stock products that are not available and we are trying our best to get stock in.
